the Mental Game

Pressure to perform and get results can be even more intense when you make a mistake or haven’t been playing as well as you want. Overcoming this pressure in the moment can make the difference between throwing in the towel, or making a comeback. Here three tips to help you sharpen your mental game:

  1. Embrace Pressure as a Challenge, Not a Threat
Pressure is a signal that you care; use it to sharpen your focus, not shake your confidence. As coach Alisha says, look at it as an opportunity to get the next point.

  2. Accept Imperfection and Learning Moments
Mistakes aren’t failures; they’re feedback. Setbacks are part of growth, not proof of inadequacy.

  3. Focus on the Process, Not the Outcome
Shift your mindset from obsessing over results to focusing on what you’re doing in the moment. Large victories are built of many smaller ones.

Performance pressure can be crushing, but mastering it is the mark of champions. Step up, own it, conquer it.
